Paleo hack

Missing From Most Paleo Diets

If you follow a paleo diet and spend any time online, there's a good chance you've heard of bone broth. Perhaps you've even tried it.

WITH ALL THE RECENT ATTENTION BONE BROTH HAS RECEIVED YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT.

For once, you can be sure it is well deserved.
And although it may seem like the latest trend, it's far from a new concept.

In fact, evidence suggests bone broth has been a hunter-gatheree staple for much of human history. The difference is that now we know exactly how it benefits your health, and why it is truly the most potent of all superfoods.

IT IS EASY TO DIGEST, NUTRIENT DENSE &

PACKED FULL OF BENEFITS

SO IF YOUR PALEO DIET DOESN'T INCLUDE BONE BROTH, NOW IS THE TIME TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER IT.

Bone broth is created by cooking animal bones and connective tissues for a long enough period of time to release the minerals and nutrients, at a low enough temperature to ensure the benefits are not destroyed.

The real healing power of bone broth comes from the nutrients locked within parts of the animal we don't typically consume; parts such as bones, marrow, tendons and ligaments. Along with a range of minerals, the right simmering technique unleashes nourishing collagen and all its healing amino acids.

Our ancestors may have been in the dark when it came to the science, but by practising nose-to-tail eating - that is, consuming all parts of the animal - they ensured their bodies absorbed each of the amino acids required to function correctly.

Our knowledge and diets may have evolved, but if you're not eating the entire animal, it's likely you're not getting the full range of essential nutrients.

It turns out, the easiest way to fix this is by adding bone broth to your routine.

Next Level
Nutritional Benefits

WHEN WE LEAVE BONES ON OUR PLATES AFTER A MEAL, WE'RE DEPRIVING OUR BODIES OF AN ABUNDANCE OF MINERALS AND CRITICAL AMINO ACIDS.

Clearly we are not designd to ingest bones but, there is a simple way to convert these nutrients into a form we not only need, but thrive on.

YOU GUESSED IT ... BONE BROTH.

The exact nutritional breakdown of any bone broth depends on the source of the bones, the cooking method, and the time left simmering.

In a high quality bone broth, you can expect to find a generous amount of collagen/gelatin with up to 19 amino acids. You'll also get minerals in easy to absorb forms, including calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, iron, potassium, phosphorus, zinc and sodium. Unlike our ancestors, we don't ness to rely on instinct when it comes to how these benefit our bodies.

Scientific evidence shows that
HIGH QUALITY BONE BROTH CAN SUPPORT
IMMUNE FUNCTION
MUSCLE, BONE AND JOINT HEALTH
GUT HEALTH AND DIGESTION
BRAIN HEALTH AND COGNITION
METABOLIC AND CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH
EYE AND SKIN HEALTH
LIVER AND KIDNEY FUNCTION
OVERALL MOOD AND SLEEP QUALITY

On top of this extensive list, it has also been demonstrated that bone broth can inhibit infection, reduce inflammation and protect against external threats like pathogens and toxins.

Because of its impact on joint health and inflammation, bone broth can dramatically ease the symptoms of arthritis, without the potential side effects of other medications.

It has also been successfully used as a treatment for leaky gut syndrome, providing sufferers deep relief from related digestive issues.

EXACTLY HOW DOES BONE BROTH PROVIDE THESE BENEFITS?

The Science behind

Bone broth's
superfood status

Many of the benefits provided by bone broth can be tied to collagen. But what is collagen? Essentially, collagen makes up around 30% of your body's protein, and is found in everything from cartilage and bone, to your skin, blood vessels and corneas.

When slow-simmered for 20+ hours to create bone broth, collagen forms gelatin, which is very similar in composition but has a jelly-like consistemcy once cooled.

Only slow-simmering allows the heat to break down the collagen to form gelatin, and it's the gelatin that contains all the nutrients.

If it isn't slow-simmered for 20+ hours, it's not real bone broth.

Collagen is often referred to as the glue that holds the body together. If you take a closer look at its amino acid profile you can see why. Collagen contains proline, glycine, glutamine and arginine - 4 amino acids crucial to basic functions of your body.

It is also rich in glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), including glucosamine, a well-documented treatment for damage joints.

Glycine Amino Acid Acts as a neurotransmitter, assists the liver with detoxification and acts as an antioxidant
Gluthamine Amino Acid Boosts metabolism, reduces cravings and provides cellular energy for intestinal and immune cells, improves muscle building
Proline Amino Acid A building block of the body, eddential for the biosynthesis of proteins and helps to regenerate cartilage.
Arginine Amino Acid Encourages fast wound healing by supporting the production of collagen
Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) Complex Carbohydrate Stimulates the growth of new, healthy collagen, repairs damages joints and helps restore intestinal lining

While it's true that your body produces collagen, it does so in small amounts and only in the right conditions. This means many people have insufficient collagen levels, leading to digestive issues and inflammation.

And as we age, we lose collagen, resulting in reduced skin elasticity and age-related joint issues.

The only way to reverse these issues is to get collagen from another source, but this is harder than it may seem, even on the most comprehensive paleo diet. You won't find this critical combination of mnerals, amino acids and collagen in any of the typical superfoods.

So while other superfoods like kale and acai berries provide other essential cofactors, it's no exaggeration to say that only animal bones and connective tissues can provide this combination of collagen, amino acids and minerals.

HOW TO FIND A

High Quality
Bone Broth

While the benefits of bone broth are obvious, knowing what to look for to ensure you actually get these benefits is not always so clear. Ideally, you want bone broth that is:

MADE FROM USDA - CERTIFIED BEEF
CREATED FROM BONES SOURCED FROM GRASS-FED.
FREE FROM PRESERVATIVES, ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS AND ADDITIVES
SIMMERED FOR 20+ HOURS ON LOW HEAT

Until recently, the above list was almost unachievable, even for the most avid DIY health enthusiast.

Fortunately, the team at Kettle & Fire have put in the time, working with food scientists and renowned chefs, and have created the first USDA-Certified Beef Bone Broth that meets every item on the checklist.

Kettle & Fire bone broth is crafted the traditional way, combining the highest-collagen content bones from grass-fed cattle, with organic  vegetables, apple cider vinegar, sea salt and herbs.

That's it.

Their advanced packaging process has enabled them to create a sustainable, all natural product that still comes with a 2-year shelf life.

It is quite possibly the best-tasting, longest-lasting,

healthiest bone broth
in the world

and there are plenty of people who agree...

"I’m a fan of Kettle & Fire’s Bone Broth for several reasons. First, the time (and money) it saves me. I don’t have to spend 24-48 hours turning bones into more digestible gelatin, and I don’t have to hunt for a reliable source of grass-fed bones at a cost of $10 a pound or more. It just takes a few minutes to heat and enjoy, both the great taste and the health benefits."

"It was hands down the best packaged broth I've ever had, and it rivals or in some cases beats homemade (because homemade broth can be difficult to perfect on a consistent basis)."
